1. General Refund Policy
At Little Pepe Law Agency ("we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to providing high-quality legal services and client satisfaction. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which we may provide refunds for legal services rendered or fees paid.
Please note that the nature of legal services often involves significant time, research, and expertise invested on behalf of clients. As such, our refund policy is designed to be fair to both our clients and our firm, while respecting the unique nature of legal representation.
2. Initial Consultations
2.1 Free Consultations
For consultations advertised as "free," no payment is required, and therefore no refund policy applies.
2.2 Paid Consultations
For paid initial consultations:
- If you cancel a scheduled consultation with at least 24 hours' notice, we will provide a full refund of the consultation fee.
- If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or fail to appear for your scheduled consultation, the consultation fee is non-refundable.
- If, due to circumstances on our end, we are unable to provide the consultation as scheduled, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at your convenience.
3. Retainer Fees
3.1 Refundable Portion
Most legal services require an initial retainer fee that is deposited into a client trust account. These funds remain your property until they are earned by our firm through the provision of legal services.
3.2 Unused Retainer
If our representation ends before your retainer is exhausted, the unused portion will be refunded to you within 30 business days of the termination of representation.
3.3 Non-Refundable Retainers
Some legal matters may involve a non-refundable retainer, which will be clearly specified in your engagement letter or fee agreement. Even in cases of non-refundable retainers, you may be entitled to a refund if we terminate representation for reasons not attributable to you or if the amount is deemed unreasonable for the services performed.
4. Flat Fee Services
4.1 Cancellation Before Work Begins
For legal services provided on a flat fee basis:
- If you cancel before we have begun substantive work on your matter, we may refund up to 90% of the flat fee, withholding a small administrative fee.
- Once substantive work has begun, refunds will be prorated based on the work completed, at our standard hourly rates.
4.2 Document Preparation Services
For document preparation services:
- If you cancel before we have begun drafting, you may receive up to 75% of your payment as a refund.
- If you cancel after we have provided draft documents but before finalization, you may receive up to 25% of your payment as a refund.
- Once documents are finalized and delivered, no refund will be provided.
5. Hourly Rate Services
For services billed at an hourly rate:
- All time spent on your case will be billed according to our hourly rate structure as outlined in your fee agreement.
- Upon termination of representation, you will receive an itemized final statement showing all time spent on your matter.
- Any advance payment in excess of time billed will be refunded within 30 business days.
6. Conditions for Refunds
Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:
- If we are unable to provide the agreed-upon services due to conflicts of interest discovered after payment
- If we terminate representation for reasons not attributable to the client
- If fees were collected in error or in excess of the agreed-upon amount
- If required by applicable law or ethical rules governing the practice of law
7. Exclusions from Refund Policy
Refunds will generally not be provided in the following circumstances:
- Dissatisfaction with the legal outcome of your case (as legal outcomes cannot be guaranteed)
- Termination of representation due to client misconduct, misrepresentation, or failure to cooperate
- Court costs, filing fees, or other third-party expenses that have already been paid
- Services that have already been fully performed
8. Refund Request Procedure
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Submit your refund request in writing to [email protected]
- Include your full name, the service purchased, date of purchase, amount paid, and reason for requesting a refund
- Provide any supporting documentation that may be relevant to your request
We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 3 business days and will provide a decision regarding your refund request within 10 business days.
9. Refund Processing Time
If a refund is approved:
- Credit card payments will be refunded to the original credit card used for payment within 5-10 business days
- Check payments will be refunded via check within 14 business days
- Electronic transfers will be refunded via the same method within 7-10 business days
Please note that your financial institution may require additional time to process the refund and make it available in your account.
10. Dispute Resolution
If you are dissatisfied with our decision regarding your refund request, you may:

- Pursue dispute resolution as outlined in your engagement letter or fee agreement
- Contact your local bar association or state bar for information about fee dispute resolution programs
11. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. We encourage clients to review this policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of our services after changes to the Refund Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
